Not gonna lie for this one I took a risk because I did not have 1 ingredient :buttermilk (grrr) but replaced the 1 cup of buttermilk with 1 cup of regular milk
| SO GOOD! |
3 Layer Cream Cheese Yellow Cake
Ingredients:
@ 1 cup of shortening
@ 2 cups of self-rising flour
@ 2 cups of sugar
@ 5 eggs
@ 1 teaspoons of vanilla extract
@ 1 cup of milk
@ 1 stick of butter (softened)
@ 1 can of cream cheese frosting
@ 1 jar of Smucker's Sugar Free Strawberry Preserves
@ Fresh blueberries and strawberries
Directions: Preheat oven to 350F. I used butter to spread on the 9'' round pans before pouring in the batter. In a bowl I mixed the shortening and the sugar and beat them on high speed for about 2 minutes until it's fluffy. Slowly add each egg. Make sure they are well mixed. Add the vanilla extract and then flour and milk. Mix until it's all incorporated. Pour into baking pans and bake for 28-33 minutes. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cakes comes out clean. And of course you can decorate it however you want.
(Pretty colored batter. I felt like I was in colonial times for some reason :)
